Unlocking Profitable Possibilities: How to Thrive as a TURO Host with Just Two Cars!

Have you ever thought about becoming a TURO host?

Have you ever thought about becoming a TURO Host? The lease we had on our  BMW was about to be up and the car was all wrong for our new family. We started on the path of finding that perfect family car. This was right after the pandemic so car dealerships were empty and choices were limited. I would have always thought we would stay loyal to the BMW family, but unfortunately BMW didn’t have any cars at the time. Mercedes had a ton of options to choose from to comfortably accommodate our growing family. Wow, were we really considering a Mercedes!? We started looking at a brand new 2022 GLB and we were in love! And what was this, an optional third row? Uh, yes please! Ok great, we found the car, but now let’s talk money. Yes the car was perfect, yes it was everything we needed, but the payment, yikes!

$700 Car Payment, NO Thanks!

I started to go down rationale road, well if we just have one car and not two, the payments not that bad, but I would be giving up my own vehicle. Dang, is a $700 and something dollar payment really a good fit for our family? How could we get the car, but not have to pay for it? Then it hit me, maybe we can share this vehicle! Over the summer we had rented a vehicle on TURO and loved the experience. Could we be TURO hosts? And so, the TURO journey began…

Official TURO Hosts

We listed the 2022 Mercedes GLB and waited eagerly to see if it booked. I am not gonna lie, taking a brand new car we just purchased and loaning it out to a complete stranger was not easy, but we did it. Within 24 hours, there it was, our first booking as TURO hosts. Wow, that was fast! We prepped the vehicle, delivered it to our first guest, and anxiously awaited the cars return. A few days later the car was returned – not a scratch. Lucky for us,  the trip went smoothly and we got our first 5 star review. Wow, this was easier than we thought. Could we possibly add a second car to the lineup? Why not!? After a few more trips, we got more confident and decided to add a second car. We bought out our current lease on our BMW and listed it as well. We were on our way to starting a business and creating a fleet!
